For 48 hours students, engineers, entrepreneurs and policy makers converged for Edinburgh’s first sustainable development hackathon!
In this first instalment four teams interdisciplinary teams worked on a product/service prototype to address one of two sustainable development goals, Clean Water & Sanitation and Food Security. Teams were provided with a context, a peri-urban area in Accra for the Water teams, and a rural area in Ethiopia for the Food teams.
Participants received mentoring, 7 free meals and 24 hour access to the venue, with the top team winning ‘Hydro-Hut’ winning support to develop their concept further.
